Celtic Autumn
I completely forgot to post on 1st August, or Lammas, the Celtic season of Harvest:
God, bless Thou Thyself my reaping Each ridge, and plain, and field Each sickle curved, shapely, hard Each ear and handful in the sheaf Each ear and handful in the sheaf
(Anonymous pre Medieval folk song of the Scottish Highlands and Islands)
Lammas, the season of rolling fields of golden wheat and corn, glossy fruit and vegetables. Time to dance in the light and sun, time to begin storing for winter time, but don't think of that now. See the harvesters, human and machine, collecting the bounty of the land.
Just wanted to say thank you for posting that! I missed it as well. Sometimes these dates/events slide right past me. We are at that point of summer (100+ degree days that are just oppressive, tiring, and draining) where we start to really, really look forward to 'fall' or 'autumn' to get here soon!
